Abstract.
Objectives. To acquaint the reader with a modern, safe, inexpensive and effective way of preserving anatomical preparations.
Material and methods. The method of conservation of anatomical preparations is described in detail, it is designed for the preservation of biological tissues (both fixed and embalmed) and their subsequent use for the educational and / or scientific purposes. The technology of preservation, as such, changes little in comparison with the traditional ones, but as a preservative, 1-10% aqueous solution of sodium benzoate is used.
Results and conclusions. Due to the use of the proposed preservative, an improvement in the quality of the preparations is achieved, as their informativeness and aesthetics are increased, by preventing further changes in natural color, partial or complete preservation of the size and consistency, increasing the subsequent service life and eliminating the occupational hazards of the anatomical and pathoanatomical laboratories.
Key words: anatomical preparations, fixation, embalming.
