The genotoxic and cytotoxic influence of catliver fluke maritas on host somatic cells

Abstract. On applying alkaline single cells gel-electrophoresis it has been established that metabolites of catliver fluke maritas exert genotoxic influence on somatic cells of golden hamsters. Genotoxic influence is observed in blood cells of the animals on the 7-th, 14-th, 21-st, 28-th, 35-th, 60-th, 90-th, 120-th and 150-th days of invasion with the maximum 8,2 times expression on the 14-th day of invasion. The indicator of «the comets tail moment»  in bone marrow cells was 1,9-6,5 times higher than the control values with the maximum expression on the 21-st day of invasion. Maximum genotoxic 7,1 times effect in the liver was observed on the 14-th day of invasion. The level of apoptotic cells in blood, bone marrow and liver cells of the animals in experimental opisthorchiasis caused by invasion cytotoxic effect increases. Cytotoxic influence of metabolites of catliver fluke maritas is observed in blood on the 7-th, 14-th, 21-st, 28-th, 35-th, 60-th, 90-th, 120-th and 150-th days of invasion with the maximum 8,3 times expression of these changes on the 21-st day. In bone marrow the maximum 10,5 times degree of cells apoptosis was observed on the 14-th and 28-th days of invasion. The liver cells apoptosis in the infected animals 2,3-6,2 times exceeded the levels of the control values with the maximum expression of these changes on the 28-th day of observation.
