Personality competence as a structural component of the VSMU medical student competitiveness

Abstract.
Objectives. To study the personality competence (PC) of the VSMU medical student as a component of his / her competitiveness.
Material and methods. We examined 432 second-year students of the VSMU medical faculty. To study the professional interest through the preferences of a certain profession type the technique «The differential diagnostic questionnaire» of E.A. Klimov was used.
The communicative and organizational characteristic properties of the students’ personality were studied using B.A. Fedorishin and V.V. Sinyavsky method of identifying «communicative and organizational inclinations» (CBS-1).
To investigate the preferred way of thinking we used the test «Individual styles of thinking» of A.A. Alekseyev, L.A. Gromova.
Results. The students demonstrated the predominance of an independent, conscious pattern of the choice of the profession type. We also revealed the presence of low level of communicative and organizational inclinations development in one third of students, as well as the «masculine» nature of their mental activity. In addition, gender specific features of the students’ personality competence were determined.
Conclusions. The study of the competence personality of the VSMU medical student as a structural component of his / her competitiveness made it possible to identify a number of special features that must be taken into account when elaborating the program of the VSMU student’s personality competitiveness formation.
