Vitebsk State Order of Peoples’ Friendship Medical University, Vitebsk, Republic of Belarus

Vestnik VGMU. 2020;19(1):94-103.

Abstract.
In the present article the authors share their own experience in the field of practice-oriented training at the clinical chair of medical universities. Different variants to conduct clinical practical classes with the students of the general medicine and overseas students training faculties using  simulation technologies – case method, role-playing games, final lesson «The working day of a district doctor» with debriefing, assessment «portfolio» are presented herein. A considerable improvement in the quality of medical students’ education that means the ability of young specialists for successful practical work is possible only when the professional level of a teacher-clinician satisfies modern requirements to the educational process and current medicine. The term «long-life education» that is popular now, especially in foreign pedagogical literature emphasizing the necessity of constant development should be addressed not only to students but to modern teachers as well.
Key words: general practitioner, practical skills, knowledge and skills control, professional competence.
