Abstract.
The article provides scientific information about the structural features of the spinal motion segments and types of joint instability. The X-ray diagnostic technique for instability in the cervical spine and its advantage over the previously known methods are described. The data on the clinical symptoms of instability in the spinal segments and its main causes are presented. An algorithm for diagnosing joint instability and its most important complications is highlighted.
Keywords: cervical spine, spinal motion segment, disc degeneration, osteochondrosis, spondyloarthrosis, instability, vertebral artery syndrome.
