Idiopathic arterial hypotension: a forgotten disease?

Abstract.
Until recently, arterial hypotension was considered to be a condition that worsens only the quality of patients’ life. However, in recent decades, a number of large studies have found that arterial hypotension significantly increases the risk of coronary heart disease, is an independent predictor of death in the elderly, and arterial hypotension caused by the use of antihypertensive drugs is accompanied by a risk of stroke.
According to various studies, the frequency of arterial hypotension varies from 0.2% to 10% in the general population. This condition is more common in women and young people. With arterial hypotension, various body systems can be affected, which complicates diagnosis and treatment. In addition, the lack of a unified approach to the diagnosis and treatment of arterial hypotension complicates the development of effective therapy methods.
The article discusses the main aspects of arterial hypotension, including etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, clinical manifestations and treatment methods. The current state of research in this area and the prospects for the development of new methods for the diagnosis and treatment of arterial hypotension are also discussed. Understanding these aspects will help physicians and other healthcare professionals better understand and treat this condition, which will also improve the quality of life of patients.
