Abstract.
This article describes a rare clinical case of еру azygos vein aneurysm. The etiopathogenesis, clinical presentation, and differential diagnostic features of the disease are reviewed, as well as the diagnostic challenges associated with this pathology. Azygos vein aneurysms are typically asymptomatic and are detected by chest X-rays and CT scans performed for other reasons. This article describes the clinical case of a 57-year-old woman with an azygos vein aneurysm that mimicked a right mediastinal tumor. The patient underwent surgery. The final diagnosis was made after thoracotomy, removal of the mediastinal tumor, and subsequent morphological examination.
Keywords: aneurysm, azygos vein, mediastinum, thoracotomy, computed tomography.
