Implementation of the Belarusian model of public health service and the main trends of its further development

Abstract.
Objectives. To evaluate the successfulness of the Belarusian model of public health service, as well as to substantiate the need to improve the priority directions of its development.
Material and methods. Analytical and statistical methods of research have been used in this study, definitive analysis, comparative analysis, synthesis of information, retrospective analysis of the statistical reports of the Belarusian Ministry of Public Health have been made, scientific literature materials have been summarized.
Results. The paper evaluates the successfulness of the Belarusian model of public health service according to the main indices characterizing the health of the population, taking into account the following international ratings: the human development index, Blumerg agency rating, WHO criteria. The level of these indices depends on the development and functioning of the health care system, as well as the quality of treatment and preventive measures implemented within the framework of state programs in the country, aimed at the preservation, improvement, optimization of public health and medical-demographic situation. The scheme of the Belarusian model of public health service has been presented and all its components have been described. Data on the main demographic indicators in the Republic of Belarus, such as infant mortality, mortality at the able-bodied age, etc. have also been given, the decrease of which in 2016 was achieved as a result of optimization of the health care system.
The most important achievement was the creation of an economically effective mechanism to ensure population provision with drugs that meets all the requirements of the WHO. The system of drugs quality control is also acquiring particular significance.
Conclusions. Changes in the health service system of the Republic of Belarus during recent years have led to an improvement in the quality of medical care at all its stages. National feature of the Belarusian model of public health service is a full coverage of the population receiving medical and pharmaceutical services. At present, high-quality drug supply system has been formed in Belarus.
